September 28 Another fun diversion
September 10 This is fun!!Check out http://www.ourprisoner.com/ A man named Kieran is "prisoner" in a house for six months, and you can watch him on a live web feed. The viewers vote on what he eats, drinks, wears, gets up, and goes to bed. Also they vote on his activities and visitors. Happy watching! September 06 What a trip!Yesterday we arrived home from North Dakota. It was a wonderful trip! I always hate leaving; it is so good to have family around. Here in Tennessee we have my parents and maternal grandmother, and that is it. We arrived in Devils Lake around 11:30 Thursday night and were met by my parents, who arrived earlier that day. Emma did very well on the trip, and even slept the last leg of the flight. Our luggage arrived the next afternoon, though! We stayed with my aunt and uncle, along with another uncle and aunt, and three other cousins and one cousin's daughter. She and Emma are close in age and are inseperable while they are together! The girls get along very well and even shared a bed the whole time (I am sure not as much sleeping was done as was needed though Friday and Saturday were family days, and Sunday was the big day. We went to a park - which was absolutely beautiful - and had Grandma's 90th birthday party. There were lots of people there! The last count I heard of relatives and community guests was nearing 200. All ten of her children were there, and all but 5 grandkids. There were loads of great-gradnkids running around too. Monday was another family day - we spent most of the day at another aunt's house and had dinner there. My aunt, cousin, Emma, and I took a nice long walk to the nearby church. It is a beautiful little church; there is no congregation any more but it is kept up nicely. One of my uncles is buried in the cemetery there. The cemetary is very old, with gravestones dated back to the mid-1800s, and the oldest ones are written in Norwegian. Tuesday we came home. The trip was amazing, and I can't wait to do it again! |
