    Now for something political

    - Sort of.
Here is a short quiz that was shared with me.  There are only 10 questions, and you answer them and it shows you where your political views lie.  It's amazingly accurate!

You'll be asked just 10 questions, and then it instantly tells you where you stand politically.  It shows your position as a red dot on a "political map" so you'll see exactly where you score.

The most interesting thing about the Quiz is that it goes beyond the Democrat, Republican, Independent.  The Quiz has gotten a lot of praise.  The Washington Post said it has "gained respect as a valid measure of a person's political leanings."  The Fraser Institute said it's "a fast, fun, and accurate assessment of a person's overall political views."  Suite University said it is the "most concise and accurate political quiz out there."

You will never believe who I met yesterday....

    John Corbett!!!!!!
I was so excited. He was at the Walmart at the shopping centre my store is in. I wasn't planning on going, it was my day off and I didn't want to go anywhere, had lots of things to do at home. Turns out I had an errand to run for the store around lunchtime, and there was't a long line, not a lot of traffic (no more than usual anyway) so I went in -
Oh. My. Goodness. That man is tall! I am nowhere near short myself, at 5'11", and he towered over me!! He is at least 6'5. I was so excited! I mean, standing with his arm around me was Aiden from Sex and the City (my all-time favourite show), Chris from Northern Exposure (another great show), the groom from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and the reverand that dates Kate Hudson in Raising Helen! UNBELIEVABLE!!
He was there promoting his country music album though.... I thought I was hearing things when I heard his name on the country music station someone had on a few weeks ago - turns out it was real! I am totally and completely NOT a fan of country music, but I bought two CDs anyway for him to sign - one for me and one "To the best mom in the whole world!" - she loves him too!
Now, if only I can figure out how to get the picture out of my new phone I'll be happy!

    I got a new phone!!!!

It is the Motorola Rokr - and I love it!!

It has iTunes, a camera, and even records videos!  I am having so much fun with it... I am so glad I bought it!  This is such a cool phone.  I haven't seen any cases to change out (my last phone was red) but it's not that dull grey - it's white and silver.  It even came with headphones, and if you are listening to your music and get a call all you do is push a button on the headphones and you can talk through them!  It's awesome!!

    Oh no!!

I'm getting behind again!  I am enjoying my new job, but working a lot of hours.  Can't wait to start getting the new pay too! Things seem to be going well, though.  We need to keep sales up and a few other things, but that's the way it goes I guess.  I haven't decided what to do about school next sememster - there is no way I can keep these hours and take more than one class, too!!  Besides, we are going to North Dakota in September and I'd have to miss class then.  I am considering an online class, though, so we'll see.

    Party Time!!

Today was Emma's birthday party!  We were very very brave and had the party at our city park.  It is so beautiful there, right on the lake.  Around eight children came, five girls and three boys, and two more girls came later on.  Emma got piles of presents, and she loved every one of them.  The downside was that after yet more storms last night the temperature dropped considerably.  I would be surprised if the high reached 60 degrees this afternoon.  It was very windy on the lake, also.  All in all the kids had a good time though.  Now she is going through all her gifts and playing with them!

    What a week!

Well I've made it through the first  week as store manager in one piece!  The night before I started I had my panic time, then we had awful thuderstorms in the middle of the night and was awake for a few hours during the night so I was too tired the next morning to be nervous.  We were all pretty tense that day after the storms, and also the leaving manager was still there for the week so things were a bit strange.  Trying to combine the operating styles of three different stores wasn't too easy either, but in the end it's what I say goes so it's working out.  The week has been pretty good, but I am worn out!!

I think I am going to like this job, though.
